FNHA Partners Portal

1         Introduction

The Gathering Space Partners Portal (“Portal”) is a family of online sub-communities comprised of, but not limited to, document and information sharing about products and services, and discussion forums.  The purpose of the Portal is to provide a collaborative space and forums for interested users to advance the work and initiatives of FNHA (“Organization”). 


2         Definitions

FN – First Nations

FNHA – First Nations Health Authority

Organization – refers to FNHA

User – an individual who is granted access to the Portal

Portal – Gathering Space Partners Portal; a restricted-access website


3         User's Acceptance of Terms of Use

These Portal Participation Terms of Use ("Terms of Use") shall govern your access, visits and participation in the Portal.  Individual sub-communities may have Portal-specific terms of use, in addition to those set forth here.  By registering for a Portal account, by using or visiting the Portal, you agree to these Terms of Use. 

The Organization reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Portal and/or these Terms of Use from time to time at its sole discretion.  The Organization reserves the right to refuse or terminate access to the Portal to anyone, at any time, for any reason, without limitation.  You will be notified in the event this affects you, as an existing Portal User.

The Portal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.  The Organization will not be liable to you or any third party for any claims or actions arising or resulting from your use of the Portal.


4         Privacy

We respect your privacy and protect your personal information pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).  We collect the User’s contact information, access credentials, and security questions to assist with user management.  The information put on the User’s device is a cookie or token that assists with managing User access to the Portal.  This cookie is removed when the User ends their session on the Portal. 

Some content you are contributing to the Portal may contain personal information, such as your opinions.  Please use discretion when considering sharing personal information.  The personal information collected through this Portal will only be used for site administration and will not be used or disclosed to other parties for any different purposes.

  • 5         Acceptable Use and Conduct

You must abide by the following rules of conduct:

  1. You are responsible and liable for all your activities while participating in the Portal.
  2. Do not engage in any unlawful conduct in the Portal.  In particular, do not post, publish, spam or distribute any defamatory, obscene, infringing or other unlawful material or information in the Portal.  
  3. Do not store sensitive information, such as patient and related information, including Personal Health Numbers and medical conditions.  Collection, use or storage of sensitive information must be reviewed and approved by the Organization.
  4. Do not falsely impersonate any other person in the forums.
  5. Do not use the Portal for any commercial purposes.  
  6. The Organization reserves the right to remove at any time, any contributions that violate these guidelines; and to remove access of a User who has violated these rules of conduct from any sub-Portal or all Portal forums.  You will be notified in the event this affects you.


6         Links to Third Party Websites

The Portal may include links to third party websites that are controlled and maintained by others. Any links to other websites are not an endorsement of such websites and you must acknowledge that the Organization is not responsible for such sites.


7         Ownership, Rights and Liability

The Organization owns all content that is posted to the Portal.  However, you have the right to request content you contributed to the Portal, from the Organization. 


8         Procedure for Making Claims of Copyright Infringement

The Organization prohibits posting and distribution of content protected by the Copyright Act of Canada, or any other applicable laws unless you own or have rights to these materials.

9         Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold The Organization harmless from and against any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions and any claims or demands brought against The Organization by any third party arising out of your use of the Services and/or any Content submitted, posted or transmitted through the Services, including without limitation, all claims, actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, expenses (including reasonable legal costs and expenses) howsoever suffered or incurred by The Organization in consequence of your breach of these Terms and Conditions.
